Can’t believe I’m a month late on this InsuranceERM story:
The CERA Treaty Board has agreed to award the UK Actuarial Profession accrediting body status for the Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) qualification.
The UK Profession is the second after the Society of Actuaries in North America to be approved for this new global qualification, development of which began last year.
The Society of Actuaries, of course, developed the CERA. It gave up rights to the designation to the treaty board in exchange for a long-term exemption from having to re-qualify.
Institute of Actuaries Australia is next up, and I’m told its program is similar to the SOA’s, so a decision should come quickly. After that, it is the Casualty Actuarial Society’s turn, which might hear this fall, though I’d bet on early next year. Details on the proposal here.
